Whether you are a surviving spouse, child, another family member or friend, the Survivor section of this website shall provide you with valuable information to guide you through the financial and administrative process following a loved one’s death. In particular, this website addresses the financial and legal issues that occur within the first six to twelve months after the death occurs. To help you focus on the important issues at the appropriate time, I’ve organized and titled the navigation menu to depict that timeline.

As a Certified Financial Planner™ professional, I was inspired to develop this website as a result of my own loss and the overwhelming mountain of administrative responsibilities that came with it. I also realized that while grieving, anyone—even a trained professional like myself—would have a hard time concentrating and it is critical not to be forced to handle financial matters alone or without the kind of background this website provides.

This is no time to procrastinate. Despite the pain, the grief and even the numbness you might feel, you are now a survivor! Have a seat and start taking charge of your life. Once the nitty gritty details of your loved one’s death are under control, you can begin to heal and rebuild your own life.

In the event you need more information make sure to visit our section on important resources and purchase your copy of The Survivor Assistance Handbook.
